John Koch

John Koch is Founder and CEO of Rusty Lantern Markets, a 33-location network offering fuel, convenience stores, and food service facilities in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The company is headquartered in Brunswick, Maine.

Founded in 2015, John’s vision was to develop a network of atypical, modern convenience stores in terms of high-end customer service, cleanliness with food service at its core.

The network was developed from a mix of new builds and rebuilt or remodeled acquisitions. Each location is reflective of the company’s brand pillars, features fresh, made-to-order food and beverage with extensive product and fuel selections. The locations are publicly recognizable, spacious, and bright with open floor plans, indoor and outdoor seating.

John earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s College (Moraga, CA) and his undergraduate degree in marketing at the University of Arkansas. He started in the industry immediately after school. He worked with service station dealers in the retail division of a major oil company and later joined a regional wholesale company that also operated a large network of company-owned stations.

John and his wife, Kristi, live in Massachusetts and have two children and three grandchildren.
