Chief Technology Officer
Yesway
Robert Hampton serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Yesway, a convenience store chain with over 450 locations across seven states. Yesway was formed in 2015 to acquire, build, improve, and operate a portfolio of convenience stores in suburban and rural locations.
Prior to Yesway, Robert spent over nine years with Jacksons Food Stores in a few roles including Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Technology Services and Innovation.
Robert has had several other leadership roles in technology including Director of Global Infrastructure and Operations for AECOM, overseeing a Center of Excellence. His extensive career in the IT industry spans various roles within public and private sector companies since 1991.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Robert actively contributes to academic and industry initiatives. He currently sits on the External Advisory Board for the Computer Science Department and the College of Engineering Dean’s Council at Texas Tech University. Previously, he served on the Industry Advisory Board for the Computer Science Department at Boise State University. In 2025, Robert was inducted into the Texas Tech Computer Science Academy.
In the convenience industry, Robert has participated in key associations such as NACS and Conexxus. Previously, he held the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman for Conexxus and has served on the content planning committee for NACS.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. Robert resides in Fort Worth, Texas.
